As we go from classroom to chapel* from club
meetings to library* from lunch room*to athletic
field* from cooking and sewing to farming and shop
work* from study and day dreaming to social recrea-
tion and play* we find ourselves being molded into
characters of different patterns. Through our varied
activity we have kept busy but we have found happi¬
ness in work and play. Thus our high school days have
given us the opportunity to live together democrati¬
cally, so that we may be better prepared to meet the
challenge of community living.

Because we appreciate the qualities of honesty

Underlying the organisation of the. National Beta Club was the bas-
idea of furnishing a means £or honoring students in all accredited
lerican axgh Schools for their social, scholastic and moral efforts
,d accomplishments., All too often those students who devote fchemsel-
is earnestly ■ to their studies go unnoticed end unrewarded for their
celleac® in scholarship. It is the purpose of the National Beta Club
furnish^ an Incentive to scholastic excellence and to reward outstand-
g meri^ in academic accompl5.shments > The chief purpose of all educat-
ual institutions is the minds of the students enrolled therein., The
s Beta c*ttb «as organized and constituted with a view to aiding the
■pool authorities in the pursuance of this objective,,
It has long been the belief of many who have been interested in
education of youththat this education can be enhanced by cooper*t-
I—u and coordination of student efforts, by affording a means for th'
I tstanaing minds of a school to get together periodically and pur si *
oommon -interest together « Beta Blubs give decided impetus to greai er
ntal efforts Better results can be thus accomplished than can be ,tfc-
ned by gratuitous urging .
The National .ueta Club hopes to afford public recognition for acad-
io excellence end to reward in a definite way positive accomplishments
honest scholastic ciiorts* JLfc will be the constant purpose of the
fleers of this organisation to encourage individual integrity and
Lf dependence o Participation in .Beta Club work on the part of high
hool students will make xor efficient and honest endeavors toward
ttfal and moral development. At the saiae time it demonstrates through
ab meetings and activities, the value and helnful oleasure ensuing
cm group interest and effort. ‘ •
Member snip in the National Bejsa Club is open to students of any
ate accredited senior high school subject to qualifications as set
the constitutions and local high school administrations.
Student membership is determined by the high school admini; tratlon
(basis of good mentality and character, creditable achievement . and
I amendable attitude. ’
Beta Club local chapters are placed by the executive head of the
gb school , under the sponsorship of some member of his faculty.
The Beta Club is probably the most democratic organization that
ever existed in high schools. '
It is hoped that the Beta Club will be known, not only as an org~
_.zati°n that stands for the ideals of service, but as one which does
aeining about implementing its professions by living up to its motto,
us lead by serving others, Ducamus Alils ServiendoST
